The website and contact details
This page explains analytics and browsing preferences for BMW C1 Club Italia, on www.bmwc1club.com and its forum. For questions about the website or the handling of your data, contact the website operator at info@bmwc1club.com.
For registration, posting and community rules, also read the forum rules. Your analytics preferences do not change your forum account.
Analytics start only when you choose
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) helps us understand which content is useful and improve the website. Optional collection is based on your consent: the Analytics code is not loaded and no visits are sent to Google before you accept. Refusing leaves only the functions needed to use the website active.
You can reopen preferences from this page or the “Privacy and cookies” control, always available on the website, and withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal stops future collection; it does not automatically delete data already transmitted. Your choice applies to the browser you are using for six months. If it is missing or expires, analytics remain disabled until you explicitly accept again in preferences; no window opens automatically.
What we measure
After consent, GA4 may receive information about pages and sections viewed, the page language, visits and engagement time, the referring website when available, the browser and the type of device. Location, such as country or region, is approximate and is not your GPS position.
The purpose is to view statistics about the website and forum. The code does not associate these data with forum usernames and does not send messages, passwords, email addresses or the contents of restricted areas as Analytics information. We do not use this integration to identify visitors by their first and last names.
Google Signals and advertising personalisation features are disabled for this integration. Your choice does not enable advertising campaigns or connections to members’ accounts.
Cookies and data stored in your browser
- Privacy preference: the website stores your choice and its date locally for six months, using browser storage (localStorage). This remembers your acceptance or refusal.
- Photographs: the website may locally remember the last photograph displayed so that different images appear on your next visit. This storage sends no data to external services and remains until it is replaced or you clear the website’s data.
- Forum: technical cookies support functions such as signing in and managing your session. These functions remain separate from your analytics choice.
- Google Analytics: only after consent, Google may set analytics cookies, usually with names beginning with
_ga, to distinguish visits and sessions. You can inspect their actual expiry dates in your browser settings.
You can delete cookies and local storage through your browser. Deleting your privacy choice leaves analytics disabled until you explicitly accept again; deleting forum cookies may require you to sign in again. Use the IT, EN, ES, DE and FR links to change language: this page does not store a separate language preference.
Retention and technical access logs
GA4 retention for user-level and event-level data is set to two months. This setting is separate from cookie expiry and does not mean all aggregated statistics reports are deleted after two months. Reports are intended for the website operator and any authorised collaborators; they are not a public list of visitors.
Independently of Analytics, Aruba’s hosting service records technical access information needed to deliver and secure the website, such as IP address, date, requested resource and request outcome. These logs are separate from optional analytics; their handling and retention periods depend on the hosting service and technical and security needs.
External services and transfers
Analytics is a Google service; for services governed by its European terms, the provider is Google Ireland Limited. Data accepted for analytics are processed on Google’s systems under the service terms. Processing may also involve countries outside the European Economic Area, including the United States. Google’s stated transfer arrangements and conditions are described in its notices and data processing terms linked below.
Refusing analytics prevents this integration from starting, but does not remove the technical processing necessary to provide the website and forum. External websites reached through links have their own privacy notices.
Questions and control over your data
To request information or exercise applicable rights over your data, such as access, correction or deletion, email info@bmwc1club.com. If your request concerns the forum, include your username without sending your password. A request may require identity verification; statistics alone do not automatically identify a person by name.
You can also use Google’s privacy controls and, in supported browsers, its official Analytics opt-out add-on. The most direct way to change your choice on this website is the “Change preferences” button.
